For the Bread Dough:
- 2 1/4 teaspoons (1 packet) active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm water (110°F)
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
For the Filling:
- 1/2 pound ribeye steak, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup green bell pepper, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup mushrooms, finely chopped
- 1 cup shredded provolone or mozzarella cheese
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon butter
For Topping:
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Dough
- In a mixing bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
- Add flour, salt, and olive oil. Mix until the dough comes together.
- Knead for about 8 minutes until smooth and elastic. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
Step 2: Prepare the Filling
- Heat butter in a pan over medium heat. Add onions, bell peppers, and mushrooms. Sauté until softened.
- Add thinly sliced ribeye steak and cook until browned. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Set aside to cool.
Step 3: Assemble the Breadsticks
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle. Cut into strips.
- Place steak mixture and cheese along one side of each strip, then roll tightly to seal.
Step 4: Bake
- Arrange breadsticks on a baking sheet. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle garlic powder, parsley, and Parmesan on top.
- Bake for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown.
